Arsenal vs Aston Villa

Arsenal returned to the title race with the 3:0 win over Hull, with both Chelsea and United dropping points last weekend. The Gunners now face a very difficult task against high-flying Aston Villa, the team that won last five games in all competitions. Seeing that both sides boast plenty of attacking potential, we expect to see an enthralling encounter at the Emirates.Arsenal took good advantage of their title rivals’ struggles and they closed the gap behind Chelsea to just six points, while the Gunners still have a game in hand. They did struggle to break Hull last weekend but ended up winning the game 3:0 and are now determined to continue the good run. The only way to do it is by scoring a couple of goals since we cannot expect Arsenal defence to keep a clean sheet against Aston Villa. With attack in full working order at the moment, we recommend backing the .Arsene Wenger could receive a big boost before this match since Cesc Fabregas is closing in on his return from a hamstring injury and the Spaniard has a good chance of making the starting line-up, in which case Abou Diaby would be dropped. Eduardo is set to lead the three-man attack, with Andrei Arshavin returning to the wing, while Nasri and Walcott are vying for the third place up front. Rosicky, Gibbs, Van Persie, Bendtner, Djourou and Clichy remain sidelined.Aston Villa continued the impressive run of results with a hard-fought victory over Stoke and that was the perfect introduction to the Christmas double-header against Arsenal and Liverpool. The Villain’s outstanding performances of late show they have nothing to fear even when facing the strongest teams in the league. With Liverpool largely struggling and both City and Tottenham too inconsistent, Martin O’Neill’s side have emerged as early favourites for the fourth place and certainly look tempting. For the first time after five games, Martin O’Neill will be forced to change the starting line-up since Emil Heskey has picked a groin injury in the Stoke game and is likely to miss this game. This means that John Carew, who scored the winning goal at the weekend, will start in attack alongside Gabriel Agbonlahor and that looks set to be the only change to the side that started against Stoke. With players like Carew, Agbonlahor, Downing and Milner, the visitors are bound to score at the Emirates and we, therefore, see a great value in backing .Arsenal need a victory in order to remain in the title race and we have no doubts they will go all guns blazing at Aston Villa, whereas the Villans are looking for fifth straight win and surely won’t be afraid to attack. With so many attacking potential on display, over 2.5 goals looks like a banker here. Highlights, live score and results will be available soon.. stay with us.
