Aston Villa vs Hull City

Aston Villa moved closer to winning their first major trophy since 1996 as they qualified for the Carling Cup semi-finals after beating Portsmouth 4:2 and they will try to carry that form into the Premier League. Hull continued to climb the Premiership ladder by taking one point from Manchester City and they enter this match in great spirits. Aston Villa looked really poor when they faced Tottenham last weekend and they were lucky not to lose that game, but the Villans showed considerable improvement in the Carling Cup game against Portsmouth. Martin O’Neill fielded a very strong team, while handing a full debut to Stuart Downing and the former Middlesbrough winger really impressed by scoring a goal in the 4:2 win over Pompey. Villa have thus rediscovered their scoring form and we therefore expect them to continue the good run of results against Hull. . Stephen Warnock has returned into action after recovering from injury and is expected to keep his place in the side, while we are yet to see if Stuart Downing will play from the start. Downing created a wing partnership with Ashley Young against Portsmouth, while James Milner played in the centre midfield and that worked like a charm against Pompey, thus the gaffer is tempted to adopt the same approach for the second match running. John Carew should return to partner Gabriel Agbonlahor in attack. The young England forward has been in great scoring form this season, bagging seven league goals and we see a good value in backing . We are obviously joking and referring to the simulated team talk Jimmy Bullard held in front of his teammates after the equalizer at the City of Manchester Stadium but that celebration only shows how the team spirits have risen with the return of former Fulham midfielder. The Tigers needed just four games and eight points to escape the dangerous zone and now they are ready to give every opponent a value for money. Phil Brown’s side are brimming with confidence at the moment and they will not be afraid to attack Villa if the opportunity arises, thus you should really consider backing . Phil Brown will have almost full squad to choose from with Ahsbee and Olofinjana the only unavailable players at the moment. The boss is unlikely to make any changes to the starting line-up, which means Jozy Altidore is again set to start as a lone striker, while Jimmy Bullard and Geovanni will be responsible for the creative department. Aston Villa are the favourites here and with the attacking potential O’Neill has at his disposal, the hosts are bound to score a couple of goals, but you should be wary of the awakened Hull. The Tigers are brimming with confidence after the good run of results and we therefore see over 2.5 goals as much better choice than home win. We will post information about results of this match.. stay with us.
