According to their manager Ventura, this was Bari’s worst performances of the season. They had chances of their own, could’ve done better but Totti went on to destroy all their hopes singlehandedly. Struggling underachievers Siena are coming to San Nicola and Galletti need to be winning these games if they want to stay in the middle of the standings. They managed to beat Livorno and Lazio at home which are, along with that win over Atalanta, their only home wins. Still, this time it won’t be easy for them simply because Siena have nothing to lose. After the third of the season already behind us, many people see them as the main relegation candidates. Still, it is very ungrateful to make prognoses like these in Italy. It won’t stay that way for long, but despite having conceded three last week, the experienced Belgian Gillet has conceded only ten goals this season. This team play a lot better that their players’ name might lead you to think but there are two main reasons for that. One of them is the fact manager Ventura is draining out all the best out of his players and the second being the fact the core of his team has played together for a while now and a lot of those players had their share of Serie A experience. When you sum it all up you get the hearty team with a couple of quick players who only add up to team’s fighting spirit. Their away score could’ve been much better had they beaten Milan at San Siro. Still they managed to gamble at least five clean cut chances. Also, some of the away games could’ve given them more than a point, against Samp at Marassi when they were also done harm by the ref. Just to remind you all, after the Giampaolo’s departure, youth coach was ahead of the team and having been unable to change anything he only confirmed our claim that manager is not the main issue. Malesani is here now and we see him as even worse solution. After Chievo and Verona, he has never managed to make some noticeable result and yet he had a number of appointments counting those with Fiorentina, Udinese and couple of Greek clubs. Every once in a while, someone appoints him manager but as far as the results are concerned, this man is the past. And now, this man is supposed to shake it up for the rock-bottomed team with only one win in the season. It will be science fiction for us and we think he is the worst solution Sennesi could’ve found. Still, let’s give the man a chance. Malesani will go back to the classic 4-4-2 with the monolithic midfield he will try to save the opening score sheet as long as possible and attack Bari through the counterattacks. Marcelo Lippi couldn’t wake up this team not to mention some Malesani. We will go for Bari here even though we know it is dangerous when they are playing against a defensive side at home, but we still think the odds are good enough for a small home bet.
