The opening game of the 17th round of Serie A will see Bologna hosting Atalanta on Saturday in what is going to be the meeting of two old acquaintances and a game with a lot of heat. As for now, both rivals are in for a long, enduring season, but this will be the last game in 2009 and whoever win will get some peace for holidays. To be honest, we have expected to see Bologna exactly where they are now, they are even doing better since Colomba has changed Papadopulo, but on the other hand we have Atalanta, a team with much more quality still lying under the surface. Ever since he replaced Gregucci, Conte hasn’t made some significant changes, but a point against Inter last week might be showing us the orobici are ending the rough period. Series of home wins are responsible for Bologna stepping out of the dangerous zone this season. If they continue winning at home, this season might be easier than the last one. Appianh also arrived, but the Ghana captain picked up an injury that will hopd him off the field until after the holidays. Bologna will charge in this game without Britos, Moras and Mingazzini, but all of the key players are ready. Still, it won’t mean a lot if they lose at Dal’Atra. This is a quality team and no one is saying differently. Still, poor start to the season, departure of manager Del Neri and the best scorer Floccari broke their spirits and the underachievement is not so unexpected. Gregucci didn’t last long, former Juventus captain, Conte, got his chance after him. Namely, on his departure from Bari, he was waiting for a call from the Old Lady, but they still chose Ferrara. Conte was practically waiting for the first empty spot and accepted Atalanta’s invitation without hesitation. His main problem at work are injuries. Atalanta will their chances in this duel, they had some pretty good times in Emilia before. To be honest, we believe a point would be good for both sides. First of all, it is very important to stay on your feet in the last game before the break, draw will satisfy the ambitions, so we expect a cautious approach with tight defenses.
