Samp were desperate against Juventus, although it did prove a difference between a great club and a smaller rival. They are not used to playing games like these and they paid the price for keeping their expectations too high. Manager Del Neri was right to say his team simply failed to accept the fact they were outsiders in this game and that they should’ve relaxed and played the game without any pressure. They were thrown out of the game from the start and they can even be happy for not conceding more than just five. After 17 games counting the last year and Serie B, Brave Bari have finally lost an away game. they played a lousy game in Parma, missed a chance with 0-0 and failed to live up to expectations later on. Tired legs might’ve caused this loss, but when couple of key players get in the game absent-minded, then you see what an average team Galletti actually are. Defeat in Torino was too big of a shock not to leave mark. Losing the game is not the problem, but the way they lost it. Their performance was desperate and Pazzini’s goal was the only shot towards Buffon’s goal. Cassano looked lost, the aggressive midfielders cut him off completely. Teams like Sampdoria depend too much on couple of players like Cassano and that is their main problem. Weak Cassano and injured Palombo caused this team look like a relegation candidate and not the second team on the standings. This is their first crisis moment this season and it will be very interesting to see the club’s reaction to it. they are lucky to have to play against Bari who are not supposed to hold for long after their great start, but they won’t have a walk in the park too due to the confidence breakdown. Apart from Semioli, others are here, Palombo will be on the green and that may bring a dose of optimism.It should be said loud and clear, their current results are manager Ventura’s credit. Bari don’t have enough quality, players are quite average for Serie A, and the fact they concede only five up to the Parma game sounds a bit unbelievable. Still, when you look at the game plan, you realize why they had such a good start. Players are in excellent shape, great fitness is partly former manager Conte’s credit, but discipline and organization are simply impressive. They run a lot, they attack on the wings, keep in mind that this team ran over Milan at San Siro and missed a lot of clean-cut chances. Players like Kutuzov, Meggiorini didn’t have the best of performances in Parma and, when that happens, there’s not a lot solutions available. Couple of players who could be of great help, like Rivas, Sforzini and a few more are injured, but nevertheless, Ventura is taking his team to Genoa with the intention not to concede. You should expect an attack-oriented approach from Bari and the attempt to use the counterattacks. Be careful though, every team Ventura led play better away. We will go for goals no matter how unbelievable that may sound. We have a feeling that Bari will score at Marassi. Samp will probably attack, they tend to be pretty aggressive when playing with minnows. Del Neri’s teams do score a lot of goals, an early one could open the game entirely, and the odds on over 2.5 are great too Highlights and results will be available soon.. stay tuned.
