Two teams in distress. Minnows’ clash will be of great importance, defeated ones will face a bunch of problems. Siena did nothing to solve the managerial issue during the break despite everyone expected differently. After the series of defeats, Giampaolo left, youth coach Baroni is only an interim solution but he took two points and is still holding the helm. Money is the main problem since Atalanta are due to keep paying Giampaolo until his next appointment. After the fine start to the season, Atalanta sacked Gregucci and brought Conte but they still slowed down their tempo. Simply, al ot of injuries and a busy schedule can do that to you. They conceded five against Juventus which might be seen as too much despite more than sad defense line. Conte couldn’t wait for the break so that he could start working with his players. He is still waiting for some to recover and believes couple of wins could project him to the safe middle part. Firstly, we don’t believe they will ever find better manager than Giampaolo. We even guess they will quit the search and get the sacked expert back on the helm. It is not a rare thing in Italy, he still receives a check every month and they could call him back in the club. Siena played an official, Cup game during the break against their regional rivals, Grosseto. They won 2:0, might’ve even won some confidence too, but it can hardly be an indicator of their form going upwards. Their main problem is that for years now they have been selling out their best players, and sooner or later, it had to happen that the replacements fail to live up to the standards of their predecessors. They are neither better nor worse than the other minnows, but this might be their most difficult season ever since they got promoted in 2003. Juventus might loan them some players in January, maybe chairman De Luca will be forced to open his wallet, but only if he sees the chance to save his team in the league by doing so. They will be more or less with full squad in this game, but we don’t think they will have an easy job against Atalanta. Five years ago he ended his playing career in Juventus and went on straight to becoming De Canio’s assistant in Siena and there are some pretty good memories of Tuscany in his heart. Afterwards, he spent some coaching time in Arezzo and Bari, and after couple of rounds took Gregucci’s place in Atalanta. At this moment, Orobici are sharing the 18th place with only nine points on their tally. Half a team was injured, the experienced De Ascentis and Acquafresca recovered during the break and they are expected to help the team a great deal. Doni and Guarante’s suspensions are now their main problem. They just can’t seem to fill in the squad, but they still won’t be wearing no white flags to Tuscany. Clashes with Siena are always fiery affairs, not very eye-pleasing performances which is probably Atalanta’s main chance to win since they are fitter than their rivals. We are not just saying it, that segment of the game was always Atalanta’s strong point and it was the thing that got them nice performances against Juventus and Milan in example. Fitness, nothing else. If Atalanta were with the full squad, we would advise you without a dilemma to go on away win. This way, it is very blurry. Best thing is to avoid final score and go for under 2.5 which is a sort of tradition when two sides meet. We will post information about results of this match..
