Palermo have finally welcomed the day of winning at San Siro. Last year, they managed to scalp Juventus and this year  they’ve done it to Milan to.  Their win was more than deserved, after a great match delio Rossi has proven to be a real specialist for rossonere. When at Lazio he would always cause a great deal of problems to Milan and he only continued the tradition with Palermo. After two wins, Palermo are currently lying in the 13 position, but it is only a deception, there is a huge crowd on the table, fourth-placed Sampdoria are only four points away from them. As for Siena, they woke up too, we have been skeptical about Alberto Malesani, but he did manage to win two home games and get his team neck to neck with others. Toscanini even moved up from the last place, but are still in dropping zone. They are in for a hell of a season, but hopes are higher than 15 days ago. Most of all, this game will be a great test for Delio Rossi. His predecessors used to beat big fish away too, but kept losing points at home ground against the lower-table teams. Rossi had made some pretty great results with Lazio, you can already sense his influence in Palermo, but Palermo are a special, unique environment, great pressure by the chairman Zamparini which can often exceed the manager and the players. If Rossi manages to win this game, his third in a row, and get nearer the leading teams, he will have jolly holidays to celebrate, if not, every next failure will signal the end of the dream and the beginning of the new torture. If you are not Italian, this may come a bit shocking to you, but that is simply the way things work in Italy and, along with the corrupted refereeing and the lack of money, that is the main reason why Calcio is only a shadow of the former force and stature. Palermo are complete, there are no injured ones and Rossi will indeed have ‘problems’ choosing the line-ups that will be grand favorites to win this game. This is the team that has managed to win even twice there in the last five years of Palermo’s return to the elite. This is really a warning to us. Still, this team is a lot weaker than it was in those years because they had sold everything there was to be sold and their team is always made of loonies and some obscure, eager to shine players. That tricky combo worked for years, but it is no t the case this one. Namely, there are no proper replacements in this team for players like Galloppe or Zuniga and the failure that hit them is more or less expected. Manager Giampaolo paid the price, Malesani has made an initial break, but we don’t think it will last. This team simply needs quality players, manager is not the problem. Malesani suffered a last minute debut loss in Bari, then there came two big, important wins over Catania and Udinese, we will see if they will continue the same now. Vergassola is out of the squad, others are ready and one point would be a great result for them. Don’t go on Palermo this time. This will be the bet everyone will decide to go for this week in Serie A and we would thus advise you to play it smart on the goals. Rossi is not the kind of a player who would rush into things, his team need a calm approach, the kind of discipline we saw in Milan. And that is the way to go.
