The hosts will certainly be boosted by the return of Mark Noble from suspension, while the boss is also hoping to have Matthew Upson back from injury. However, Kieron Dyer picked up an injury in the Bolton game and he is out for a couple of weeks, while Zavon Hines and Luis Jimenez remain injury doubts. Michael Essien and Jose Boingwa remain sidelined, but Joe Cole, Ricardo Carvalho and Florent Malouda are expected to return to the starting line-up. Didier Drogba is also expected to start the game after missing the Portsmouth match with a back problem and he will be the biggest attacking threat for home defenders.
